I don’t know if you can get it in time for Christmas, but there’s a new book out about the coffee community in the Land Down Under, and based on the synopsis, I think readers of Barista Magazine would get a kick out of it.
It’s called Café Republic of Australia, and you can read about it on Foodweek Online here.
Kenneth R. Olson (he/him) is co-founder and publisher of Barista Magazine the worldwide trade magazine for the professional coffee community. He has written extensively about specialty coffee, traveled near and far for stories, activities, and fun, and been invited to present on topics important to coffee culture. He is also an avid fan of the Portland Trail Blazers, the Washington Huskies, and public libraries.
Sorry to step on your toes (or news from your own backyard anyway)!
Ken – you beat me to writing about this! I’d half written a post…
The words were written by Scottie Callaghan (ABC champion 2007 & World Latte Art Champ 2006). It’s a great fun read about the Aussie industry. He and his wife Jemima had a baby girl last week!
