Just one week ago, Emily Oak was updating the blog with reports from the Australian Barista Championship, unfortunately, Australia today is back in the news as wildfires race across the state of Victoria and immolate forests, homes and whole towns. Most terrible of all, it appears that at least some of the fires were set by arsonists. Officials expect the death toll to pass 200.

Our thoughts go out to all of those affected by this disaster, and we hope for everyone’s safety.
