Random Bits of Coffee (related) News

A couple of new news stories out today reporting that coffee consumption can help ward off diabetes. One here and one here. An interesting note, it’s not just coffee, but lots of it, specifically at least four cups a day that can help.

And here’s a story from the Wall Street Journal saying that McDonald’s in part of its McCafé effort will begin offering free wifi at its locations across America. Previously the company had been charging $2.95 for two hours of wifi access. My question: who wants to spend two hours at a McDonald’s? You’d smell like french fries all day long.

Finally, here’s a story out of Chico, California (home to Sierra Nevada Brewing among other things) about a customer service incident (wait… is a person a customer if they don’t pay for anything?) gone awry. My favorite line from the story: she may have become further agitated when a young child smiled at her. Dang kids and their smiles, I mean who doesn’t get frustrated at the sight of that, especially this time of year?
