It’s that time of the week, folks, when the weekend is that much closer, and Humpday Giveaway is upon us. Welcome to this week’s amazing online trivia contest for all you awesome coffee people out there! And have we got an awesome prize for you!

Have you guys heard about Smart-Tamp yet? If you haven’t, get ready to hear the world chattering about it in no time. This new tamp concept comes from MG Coffee Tampers, and is totally cool because… it’s digital. It’s like the iPhone of tampers.

The Smart-Tamp digital espresso tamper shows you how hard your tamping with a super slick looking display in real time. All you do is shake the tamper to wake it up, then tamp to your desired pressure. The Smart-Tamp takes another mysterious element away from your espresso preparation. If you have your grinder dialed in, and your machine ready to go at optimum settings, it only makes sense that a tamper that can tell you exactly how much pressure you’re tamping with would offer insight and consistency, as well.

The Smart-Tamp retails for $139, but you folks playing Humpday Giveaway this week have a chance to win one! That’s pretty effing cool.

The Smart-Tamp comes with all kinds of options, such as what scale you want the pressure displayed in (above), size, and color. It comes with a curved base and a flat base, so you have those options from the get go!

This isn’t some one-size-fits-all tamp either: you can choose the color (brown, blue or yellow); the size (58 mm, 53 mm, or 58.4 mm); and you can even choose if you want the pressure displayed in LB or KG. After we’ve determined the winner tomorrow, we’ll ask him/her to tell us the size, color, and scale they prefer, and the good folks at MG Coffee Tampers will ship one right out!

Oh, and you’re wondering about the base? They’ve got you covered there, too: every Smart-Tamp comes with both a flat and curved base in the box. And batteries (two CR2032 coin cells) are included!

”Answers may be submitted between  7  a.m. PDT on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, through 6:59 a.m. PDT on Thursday, March 27, 2014.

”The names of those who submitted the correct answer will be entered into a drawing, and  Barista Magazine  will randomly select a name, which will be announced on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 10 a.m. PDT right here on the  Barista Magazine  blog.
