Disneyland may like to proclaim itself the “Happiest Place on Earth,” but a new study out of Britain begs to differ. According the New Economics Foundation, after studying 143 countries around the world, the Central American, coffee-producing country of Costa Rica is the happiest nation on the planet.
The index (the Happy Planet Index) ranks countries based on life expectancy, people’s happiness and their environmental impact.
Latin America did very well overall (the Dominican Republic ranked second, followed by Jamaica), while the UK and the US ranked fairly low. You can read the whole report here.
