Our friend Alexander Ruas ”Swedish Barista Champion in 2011 ”emailed me with this awesome photo of the new Barista Champion of Sweden, Oskar Alverus! Oskar, who is a roaster at Drop Coffee, joins Alexander as national champions from this awesome company (seriously: they sent us some coffee a while back and it was amaaazing).
Oskar won the Swedish Barista Cup using the Perci lot 28 natural processed Geisha from 90+ Estates in Panama. Alexander tells me that Oskar described his coffee for the judges as having the flavors of blood orange, lavender, and lots of tropical fruit.
Congratulations, Oskar and Drop Coffee! Looking forward to seeing Oskar compete for Sweden at the World Barista Championship in Melbourne!
