The folks at La Marzocco are thrilled to welcome The Coffee Collective, a specialty roaster out of Copenhagen, Denmark, as the latest occupants of the La Marzocco Cafe. The café hosts coffee companies from around the world in a monthlong residency where the residents have creative control over the menu, coffee offerings, and even food options.

The Coffee Collective takes over the La Marzocco Cafe this month, offering distinctive coffees and signature items from the Copenhagen-based roastery.

During their residency, The Coffee Collective will bring a taste of Denmark to Seattle. “We’re excited to bring a piece of Denmark and the Coffee Collective experience to the hometown of modern coffee culture,” shared Klaus Thomsen, cofounder of The Coffee Collective. “Having worked with La Marzocco for many years, we think this is a great opportunity to showcase our Scandinavian take on coffee. With us we’ll be bringing our full range of lightly roasted filter coffees as well as a variety of espresso. To complement, we’ve taken two of our favorite baked goods recipes with us and will be serving these alongside the coffee.”

Guests are invited to enjoy coffees in the café, housed in the KEXP building in Seattle, and experience a feeling of hygge (pronounced hoo-gah), a sensation that “involves creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people,” a press release states. The Coffee Collective will also work with local Seattle bakeries to provide Danish treats for their monthlong residency.

Rumor has it that there might be ice cream offered at the Seattle pop-up…La Marzocco’s KEXP café allows roasters to create a menu that showcases their coffees and creativity.

If you can’t make it to the Coffee Collective’s residency, the La Marzocco Cafe will be hosting a number of roasters from around the world. Like The Coffee Collective, each roaster will craft their own unique café experience. Here’s a list of who to watch out for in the coming months:
