Thursday Night Throwdown in Michigan Makes Bank for Food4Farmers

We were super excited when Jessica Coles of Ferris Coffee & Nut in Grand Rapids, Michigan, reached out to ask us to be involved with the Thursday Night Throwdown (TNT) she was helping put together. I asked her to send a few photos from the event and some details. Here’s what Jessica has to say about last week’s TNT:

The Ferris Throwdown was a total hit! We raised nearly $300 for Food4Farmers with the help of our roughly 40 attendees, including Grand Rapids baristas from Ferris, JP’s Coffee, Madcap, Rowster, and  Lyon Street Cafe, and even Chicago baristas from Bow Truss and Intelligentsia. Our first-place winner was Ferris Coffee’s own Hannah Danielson, with second place going to Erik Koji from Bow Truss, and third place to Tony LeSeure from Intelligentsia.

Our raffle table had a lot of great fundraising sponsors as well, including Barista Magazine, Prima Coffee, Rancilio Group, Synesso, La Marzocco, Wilbur Curtis Co., the  BGA, and Bow Truss.

We wanted to thank everyone who came out for the first throwdown in our new café space. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

There were loads of cool prizes from sponsors of the Ferris Throwdown.
