Pre-party

Because Ken and I never like to be unprepared for any situation, we went to see “The Hangover” yesterday, to make sure we were ready for our trip to Coffee Fest Las Vegas later this week.

Man, was this movie a side-splitter. If you have a bawdy, raunchy sense of humor, like Ken and I do, you’ll love it. We’ve been spontaneously erupting into giggles today in the office as we replay all of our favorite scenes in our heads (“Not you, fat Jesus.”)

Anyway, Coffee Fest Las Vegas is always an awesome show ”in this economy, Vegas is still a cheap and easy vacation (unless you make some of the, um, mistakes that our “heroes” in the movie make). The show is typically well-attended, the parties are fun, and the Millrock Freepour Latte Art Competition, sponsored by Barista Magazine, Dillanos and Nuova Simonelli, is always a good time.

The Las Vegas Millrock Freepour Latte Art Competition has a full roster, and I can’t wait to get going judging with my awesome team of judges ”David Stackhouse from Millrock, and new to the judging pool, Matt Milletto of the American Barista & Coffee School. It’s sure to be fun, and I can’t wait to see what crazy awesome pours are, well, poured over the course of this weekend.

Barista Magazine will be stationed at Booth #604 all weekend, June 12 “14, so be sure to come by and say hello! We’ll be selling subscriptions for a special Coffee Fest price, as well as our cool new t-shirts! The trade show opens at noon each day, and the Latte Art Competition will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday and Saturday, with the final round taking place on Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon.

I just hope nothing really bad happens…
