Barista Bash in Charlotte!

Our friend, Jason Dominy, who is the director of training and knowledge for Dilworth Coffee in Charlotte, N.C., is getting super pumped for his company’s event this weekend, November 7 “9! The learnin’ part will be an SCAA Skill Building Workshop led by Ellie Matuszak, and the partyin’ part will be a Barista Bash and Latte Art Throwdown with some killer prizes, including a Rancilio home machine and some sweet custom tampers from Espresso Parts, not to mention Barista Magazine t-shirts!

Oh, and remember this guy from the June/July issue of Barista Magazine? DJ Pez, aka Lem Butler of Counter Culture Coffee, will be DJ-ing the party, which is, in our opinion, reason enough to go.

But add to that Throwdown MC-ing by Octane Coffee’s Ben Helfen (a latte art champion himself), and it’s an event you won’t want to miss!

Besides all the fun to be had, the event will do some good for the world, as well: all proceeds from the Throwdown will benefit both Blood:Water Mission (which helps to buld clean water wells in coffee-producing countries such as Kenya and Uganda), Socially Conscious Coffee and Coffee Kids. Way to go, Dilworth! And thanks, Jason! For more information, contact Jason at jason@dilworthcoffee.com.
