In partnership with the Hawaii Coffee Association, Daylight Mind Coffee Roasters will host a signature drink contest at the SCA Global Expo, featuring only ingredients from Hawaii. The contest will be limited to 14 entrants, and will take place at the Hawaii Coffee Association booth (#2707) on the show floor of the Expo.

Daylight Mind, featured above, is sponsoring a signature drink contest where contestants will be asked to use ingredients from Hawaii.

“The contest will be a celebration of Hawaiian coffee and Hawaii-produced products,” a press release states. Potential entrants can email Zoey Thorson and explain why they should be chosen for this contest. Potential applicants can tackle topics such as “why the contestant loves Hawaiian coffee, what ‘aloha’ means to the contestant, or simply what makes the contestant worthy,” the press release states. The Hawaii-based coffees and ingredients will be provided by Daylight Mind and the Hawaii Coffee Association, and they may include (but are not limited to) the following:

Macadamia nuts
Sea salt
Cane sugar
Coconut syrup
Maunawili coffee blossom honey
Cinnamon
Coffee blossoms
Coffee blossom simple syrup
Lilikoi butter
Papaya seeds
Golden pineapple

If you win, you could be sipping this iced coffee on the beaches of Hawaii!

If chosen to compete, contestants will craft a signature drink using Hawaiian coffee and any of the ingredients provided. The winner of the contest will receive airfare to Kailua-Kona for a week, along with lodging on a coffee farm and two classes taught by Daylight Mind. If you’re interested in participating, email Zoey—quickly since space is extremely limited—at zoey.thorson@daylightmind.com.
