After an action-packed weekend at the U.S. Coffee Championships qualifiers in Nashville, Tenn., in January, Slow Pour Supply is bringing the Let’s Pour event series to the USCC Championships & Qualifiers in Orange County on Thursday, February 20.

Let’s Pour hosts its second event as a latte art workshop with a coffee tasting and milk science presentation.

Let’s Pour is an event-driven effort to bring back the U.S. Latte Art Championship in 2021. Slow Pour Supply kicked off the first event last month with Rancilio through a sold-out workshop-competition in Nashville that featured Hong Kong Latte Art Champion Ivy Lky. This time around, they’re adding a couple more elements to the event.

The night will begin at Common Room Roasters in Newport Beach with Angie Chun, 2015 U.S. Latte Art Champion. A coffee tasting by Common Room will warm things up before the event moves on to a milk science presentation hosted by Straus Family Creamery.

Once it’s time to begin pouring, Angie’s brother William Park—the third-place finisher at the 2015 USLAC—will join to demonstrate free-pour and etching techniques. Some free-pour examples include swans, ribbon tulips, halo tulips, and fast/slow pour patterns. They’ll also demonstrate etching for roses, dragons, and more. If you’ve ever been intimidated to rock these complex designs behind bar during a shift, Angie and William will teach simple ways to incorporate these techniques into everyday café life.

To be a part of the festivities (and the after-party), sign up for this awesome opportunity on Eventbrite for choose-what-you-pay options of $15, $20, and $25. All proceeds benefit the Australian Red Cross’ brushfire relief efforts.
